Cousins Christmas!

Every year one weekend before Christmas we take
time to get together with just our favorite cousins. They
are the same age as my parents and the kids are all around
the same age so we have a great time. This year we did it
last weekend and we made tons of food and drank tons
of wine!

I decided to get a little Pinterest creative this year:
Via the Chalkboard Cheese tray tutorial
found here.
I think mine turned out pretty good and I already
had the wood cutting board and just had to buy the
chalkboard spray paint!
My mom loves this as cheese and wine are most likely
her favorite combination of food and drink ever.

What do ya think?! Pretty neat, huh? It was a huge hit.

Then I decided to make the Pinterest White Chocolate
Cranberry Cream Cheese Snickerdoodles found here.

These cookies are SO good. And I don't even like cookies.
I also made these and took them to the nurses on the floor
I precepted on for my final semester. Let's just say they
didn't last long!

And even better- they are so easy to make. And yes,
because of this I have been hoarding the Betty Crocker
snickerdoodle mix.

Many thanks to my mom's fantastic mixer that Santa brought
her last year. This thing is amazing!

I like my cookies large, don't judge :)

Because my cookie scoop is so large these ended up taking
about 12-15 mins. But still turned out delicious! Making
them again for Christmas dinner this weekend.

Then I also made these: Peppermint Cupcakes.
These were a huge hit! They are delicious.
And I think they turned out pretty too :)

Then we also had Ham, Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes,
Garlic cheese biscuits, Green bean casserole and salad
for dinner! Yum!

Then after dinner it was Gingerbread house time!

I made the gingerbread tree!
And no we did not make our gingerbread house
bases from scratch. Tried that one year and it was a major
FAIL. they ended up sliding all over the place.
So this year they came pre-assembled from Target. Best
Invention ever!

Poor [JE] couldn't resist taking a huge bite out
of his house! hah.

 And a few more bites..

Daisy always finds someone to snuggle up to!

Finished products!

And here are the finished snickerdoodles!

Have you had any family gatherings yet for Christmas?
We have tons more coming up this week!

I love the Christmas season and I have been
having a great time decorating, shopping, and spending
time with family since school has ended.
I hope everyone else is having a great Holiday so far too!

xoxo,

Little Miss Southern Love

We get together with my aunt, uncle, and cousin (yes, I only have one aunt, uncle, and cousin) and grandparents on Christmas Eve, and then my mom's mom comes over on Christmas - it's definitely not hard to get my whole family together :)
