Alaska Day 6: Icy Strait Point

This post is about Day 6 of my Alaskan Cruise and 

on this day we stopped in Icy Strait Point. 

I loved this day and you will find out exactly why later

on in the post.

Yum. This little shack had some really good chowder.

Box wine at 11am? Why not?

The boys waiting in line to rent their fishing gear.

I loved all these buoys and traps. I wanted to take them all 

back to FL to use for our wedding.

I have no idea what this was but it's all they caught. 

I think this was also some sort of sea star/starfish.

WHALE TAIL!

I absolutely fell in love with whales while in Alaska.

I bought this really adorable

whale pendant with daisies on it to wear on one of my chains.

They are amazing creatures.

Heading out to go whale watching and we were getting excited

when we started to see whales in the distance!

My zoom lenses came in really handy on this day :)

My favorite part was seeing air shooting up out of the 

water from their blowholes.

This little guy was so cute :) 

I feel like Daisy sits in this exact position sometimes.

This day was so fun and everyone in our family

had an awesome time whale watching.

It was easily one of our favorite excursions!

If you are ever thinking about cruising Alaska

I highly recommend going whale watching.

What I'm loving Wednesday!

for What I'm loving Wednesday!

1. Loving my sweet Daisy girl as always. Except she 

needs a haircut and she must be starting to hate

my laptop because every night at this time I am

sitting in the same spot on the couch blogging or studying

and she comes and stands in front of me and barks. 

No, she doesn't need to potty and has plenty of water.

She hates my laptop! I've finally figure it out. haha.

She is obviously spoiled and wants all the attention.

2. Also loving this guy and the way my little Daisy

loves him so much!

3. Loving my new car! I got it a few weeks ago

and it's simply amazing. After being rear-ended in

my other Lexus car I was definitely ready to upgrade

to an SUV.

4. Also loving the delicious Norman Love chocolates that

come with purchasing a new car! And this car is actually in

my name! So I actually own something in the world. 

And it feels amazing.

5. Also loving that I finally got my goodies from the Pea Pod

announcements sale a while back. The umbrella is probably

the best items out of all of these. It has been raining so much

here and it has definitely come in handy!

6. I love Shutterfly! Because we order so much stuff from here

I recently got this email to make a free photo book! I just got

it the other day and I made it about our Engagement. I'll 

post some pictures of it soon.

7. BSA from Preppy Wife Preppy Life and I were at Moes

 the other day and I noticed these new stickers on the Iced Tea 

containers. Amazing! The one on the left reads Southern Tea 

(if you couldn't tell). This makes me love Moe's even more.

8. Also loving my graduation cap! BSA from Preppy Wife Preppy Life

and I made ours together the week before graduation. (Which

I still have yet to post about!). We used Lilly Pulitzer fabric and 

iron-on monograms and I think they turned out just fabulous!

9. Also loving this app called Wall about you! It's a monogram

app where you can create your own backgrounds for your 

Iphone. It is $1.99 (I think) but I assure you it is worth it :)

I have also been testing some out with my new monogram.

Alaska Day 5: Skagway- 4th of July!

This post is about Day 5 of our Alaska trip!

On Day 5 we arrived in Skagway in the early morning

and didn't have any excursions until later in the day so we 

hung out on the ship all morning. This was a rough morning

for all of the guys in our family because they hit the 

bar/casino a little too hard the night before. 

So they relaxed in the pool/hot tub in the 

morning to 'detox' a bit. Then we ate lunch and headed

out to our excursion to go dog mushing in the mountains 

of skagway! This was also the 4th of July so there was a 4th of 

July parade on the streets of Skagway and lots of other fun

things going on. We also had a fun 4th of July themed dinner

on the ship that night!

 Loved this baby! I was trying to figure out how to get him through

the scanner to get back on the ship and go home with me!

 Like I said.. rough night = morning in the heated pool to sweat it off.

 This is an old brothel in Skagway!

The one thing I learned in Alaska was they definitely had

at least one old brothel in each town we visited. 

And there were old shacks in the mountains they called

"cribs" and you can only imagine what went on in those.

 I took full advantage of the drink of the day everyday!

 Happy 4th of July!

Day 6 of the Alaska trip coming soon! I know by now 

you are all dying to vacation here sometime soon. It is amazing!
