The year of the weddings...

It feels as though EVERYONE I know is getting
married this year! Including myself and two best friends.
This was the first wedding we attended this year in January
at the most adorable little farm just outside of Tampa, FL.
It was a country/rustic theme wedding and our friends executed
the theme perfectly! I loved every ounce of this wedding!

 Beautiful sweetheart table.

Our friends [BB] and [AM]! [AM] is also
one of my bridesmaids and [BB] is a groomsman!

Loved the programs! The wedding invitations
and save the dates matched!

Loved the flowers along the aisle!

We are using this same Mason jar idea along
our aisles except with the blue Mason jars.

I'm pretty sure this was a Pinterest steal...
but then again- what isn't these days?!

Yes, the guy in front of me had on jeans. Casual wedding!

Family pictures on the trees on the way to the cocktail hour.

So cute! Their initials in horseshoes on the trees.

 Gorgeous venue!

 Wishing tree!

 Fingerprint guest book!

Such a cute place card idea!

Mmm. Sweet tea and lemonade :)

[KP] & I at the cocktail hour!

 Appetizers!

 Caramel apple favors!

 Beautiful flowers.

LOVE the gold chivari chairs!! I wish our venue had
gold! But I will settle for white. I LOVE these chairs.
I wish I could have them in our house :)

 First dance. The bride's dress
was gorgeous and totally fit her fun
personality!

We had a great time at this wedding and wish our friends
nothing but the absolute best! Next is Beverly's wedding in
just a few short weeks!

Bridal Talk Tuesday: Engagement Picture DIY/Behind the Scenes

Linking up with Life with Elizabeth today
for Bridal Talk Tuesday!

Today I am going to reveal how I made some of the props
we used in our Engagement Picture shoot. Most of the ideas
that I found were from Pinterest (surprise, surprise!)

These don't look like a total fail but they were. I painted
them a pretty khaki color with a gold sheen and then
used the crackle paint and it didn't work. I still think the color
turned out nicely and went well with the background colors.
These are from Hobby Lobby.

The banners were something I knew that I wanted
to do from day 1 of engagement prop planning.
The anchor stencils are from the Martha Stewart
Michaels nautical collection, and the letter and
number stencils are from Hobby Lobby.
I found a tutorial online
that was kinda confusing so I ended up making them
all on my own. I measured the burlap and cut one to use
as a stencil for all the rest.

I ended up making two banners, one with the date
and one that said 'Save the Date'.

After they dried I simply folded a tiny flap of the top of the
penant over the string of burlap and got glued it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how these turned out.
Especially the anchors!

The next project was these numbers. I painted them
the first time and it was too blue (see the back of the right one)
so then I bought a darker color which was more navy.
Then I used the pop-top part of an aluminum can and hot
glued them to the back so that I could string them all on my
jute.

 Final product.

Final product.

I can't find the pictures for how I made these
but there are SO many tutorials out there to do so.
All you have to do is google 'Moss Green letters'.
I bought the sheet moss from Joann Fabrics and
cut it to size around the cardboard letters also from Joanns.
I used two packs on these. I love how
these turned out as well!

Of course my BFF Carrie was my hair inspiration!
(as she almost always is)

This is how it looked when I left the salon..
A little poofy and a bit too curly but
it fell out so nicely! I love my hair stylist.

This is where we took our pictures.
Boca Grande, FL. It's so weird that this
is in the same county as the one I live in but
it still took us about 1 hour 30 minutes to get there..
but so worth it!

Let me know if anyone else has any other
questions!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Catch up time!

1. I totally missed my one year Blog-aversary on March the 9th! Oops!
Happy first birthday Little Miss Southern Love!

2. Yes, I have graduated Nursing school and am officially an RN but-
no, I still do not have a job. Yes, I am trying to fix this, Don't worry!
(More to come!)

3. [KP] and I are building a house! So excited :)

4. Most of our wedding planning is done! Still left are: the cake
tasting, food tasting, ordering of bridesmaids/groomsman outfits, and
a few more things.. feeling pretty good at 8 months out!

5. The weather in FL the last few weeks has been amazing! I'm talking
70's-80's with no humidity and a nice breeze! The only downside.. Snowbirds
are still here!

6. I have been keeping myself busy by selling a TON of old stuff
that I don't use anymore on Facebook selling pages and ebay. I actually really
like it!

7. It has officially been decided that I am in fact a clothes, shoes, and handbag
hoarder.. I have enough stuff in my one walk-in closet to fill three
normal sized closets. Don't make me post a picture.

8. [KP] still loves his job and works a ton but is making that $$! He
even bought his first truck all on his own a few weeks ago.. He was
such a happy boy. Now he is planning all the upgrades he will make to
it.. ya know.. normal redneck boy stuff: rims, tires, toolbox, lift kit, etc.

9. Thinking about growing up is weird! I can't believe in 8 months
I am going to find out how real everything is going to become. Mortgages,
Electric bills, Shopping budgets :( oh boy!

10. I am thinking of starting to sell Stella & Dot. Anyone know anyone who sells?
Or have any advice for me?

11. I still need to blog a ton of pictures of things that have happened over
the last few months. It's coming!

12. It's hard to believe that I used to be a better blogger while I was still
in nursing school because I was blogging everyday during class.. and I
still passed!

13. I am going to start blogging more starting... NOW!

14. This is one of the first posts in a long time I have done with no
pictures.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
And I have still been reading/commenting!
